ROBERT PRENZEL 1866-1941
This Robert Prenzel carved blanket box was purchased from Christies Melbourne
sold as a carved arts & craft blanket box with a $1,000 estimate. purchased for around $950 Hammer price, resold a few months later for $10,000 plus AUD ... I might ad Christies did not pick up on the blanket box that it was stamped by the Robert Prenzel work shop circa 1899 ... My Website is AntiqueRoadshowSeminars.com.au

ReplyDeleteHello and thank you for your interest in asking my opinion, I can not help unless I can see an image of your item ? Prenzel made many items and his factory also made many carved items, there are lots of factors which relate to pricing Prenzels work ? there are a number of works that people think have been made by him but in-fact they are not his hand but made by his factory.
ReplyDeleteSo Im sorry to say unless I see an image of your item I cant guess or give an informed opinion.
If you would like to send an image via antiqueroadshow@hotmail.com I would be happy too help.
Kind regards Lester

ReplyDeleteHello, I have viewed your photos that you sent via email, please let me ask a few questions relating to your mirror ?
How did you come by this mirror, did you buy it ? if so how long ago or did you inherit the item ?
Is the item signed or stamped if so what is it stamped ?
